Keely Lauren Cansler is ready to showcase her talents in Charleston fashion week 2012. According to Keely, her love for fashion started at a young age. She had a great passion in this field. So Keely joined the Anni Albers program at the North Carolina state university where she acquired a BS in Textile technology and a BAD in art and design. During her studies, this talented designer was exposed to different techniques like screen printing, digital print design, hand dying and many more. She utilized those techniques to create her own fabric designs. It should be noted that Keely Lauren Cansler was selected to showcase her work at the annual NCSU Art to Wear fashion Show during the spring of 2010 and 2011. She realized the importance of this fashion industry when she moved to NYC to intern with Proenza Schouler for the summer. Keely Lauren once mentioned that if she could dress / design for one well known person, it would be Anna Wintour(Editor-in-chief of the vogue magazine) as her fashion opinions are respected. When considering her style of design, remember that Keely is inspired by non-traditional materials. Keely is a talented designer so that with each of her collections there will also be a story related to it. Being one of the merging designers of Charleston fashion week 2012, Keely considers this fashion week as a great opportunity to display her work in front of the audience who may otherwise not have had a chance to witness the great works. For the time being, Keely is in the process of collecting materials, fabric samples as well as sketching ideas. She also mentioned that her patterns were inspired by the contrast between shadow and light and had also chosen to disassemble antique chandeliers and reinvented them in different ways so as to embellish the garments and produce the necessary accessories for Charleston fashion week 2012.
